RCT OBJECTIVES
a)  To contribute to the efforts of the government towards the need for the public to have well-trained journalists to boost political, socio-economic and technological changes so as to enable the nation to move harmoniously with the rapidly changing world.
b)  To offer will trained journalist so as to furnish the public with the right information vital for improving their standards of living especially in remote rural areas.
c)  To raised the standards of the media in Tanzania so as to meet the democracy and justice challenges .
d)  To prepare trained journalism who will also quality to join higher learning institutions.
e)  RCT long-term plan is to degree level. The college is to become a university in future
f) Born in the wake of political and media liberalization in Tanzania, the school has been giving its students professional instruction and guidance not swayed by political,ideological,economic and non-journalistic considerations
d)  Tanzania Volunteers for Development Trust (TAVODET) intends to establish as part of her long-term plans her own newspaper, radio studio and TV station.  These will be used partly as college practical centers.
